This has been a seriously fucked-up time for me. Lots of chaos. Three things really stick out for the weekend, though.

1) New Years Eve was teh suck.
2) New Years Day was teh weird.
3) [livejournal.com profile] wendolen is teh 3v1l.

NYE i pretty much felt like shit. Seriously depressed and antisocial. Worked 6 hours, putting my total for the week at 50 yet again, but i didn't feel as drained and shitty as I usually do at the end of a 9 or 10 hour day. So I went to bed early and spent the night cuddling with [livejournal.com profile] deadrose_black and drinking yummy sake (I forget the name, but it's aged in cedar barrels and has a very unusual nose with a sharp, woody aftertaste).

Late that evening, after I'd been in bed for a bit, I hear a knock on my door. Answering it, I find [livejournal.com profile] wendolen there -- not even knowning she was in town -- handing me this plate of chocolate truffles she had made herself. And not just the usual, "ooo i have a few nice little yummies I thought you'd like" plate of small round brown thingies you get from most people; but this enourmous platter covered with soft-ball-sized gooey chocolate monstrosities. Okay, a little exaggerated, but not much. You didn't see these things. Each one is big enough to kill a medium-sized dog. And if that's not bad enough, she made them with liquor and chile pepper and shit like that (still haven't found the ones with the chile pepper, since I'm trying to eat them very slowly). I'm not sure she did that to be nice, i think she's trying to kill me with a severe chocolate overdose. Probably trying to get my extensive wombat porn collection.

NYD was okay. Mostly just drove around with deadrose getting pet supplies, food, assorted household goods, and so on. While at Petsmart, we saw some beautiful fancy mice; and picked up a gorgeous long-haired silver male. And by silver, I mean this bright, silver-grey with a very shiny coat. Looked exactly like polished pewter. She's gonna breed him to her silver female, and should get some amazingly coloured mices out of it. After that, we went to Half-Price books so I could use the gift card I got for Christmas. Ugh. Talk about lame. I couldn't find jack shit. I guess it was still pretty picked over from Christmas shopping. All I managed to pick up were the special edition DVD of The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari and What's New with Phil and Dixie 3* for me; and a few paperback horror anthologies and a Projekt ethereal-goth Christmas music comp CD for deadrose. But I did run into an aquaintance (friend of a friend, who i've hung out with at a couple parties, and is definitely nifty) who works there, and who will probably keep an eye open for cool comics for me. Woo!

Today, back at work, doing 10 hours of icky. Nerg. I got a total of 2 hours of sleep last night, due to being up all night with a nasty stomachache that none of my usual remedies seemed to help in the slightest. Could not sleep, no matter what drugs I used, or what relaxation exercises I tried. So I had to get up for work with a massive amount of sleep dep. And if that's not bad enough, I went to Uwajimaya to pick up food for lunch, and they had cans of starfruit juice. For those who don't know, starfruit, aka carambola, is one of my favorite fruits. I love almost anything starfruity. I read the lable, and all it listed was water, starfruit juice, sugar, citric and ascorbic acid, and salt. Sounded yummy. It wasn't. It tasted like icky, vaguely-starfruit-flavoured gatorade. Bleah. That's so disappointing.

[*] It's not bad, but it's all from the Duelist period, which wasn't his best work. I liked the Dragon magazine era Phil and Dixie better. It does have some funny comments from Kaja, though.
