New Absinthe
Mar. 2nd, 2005 10:02 pmAn aquaintance, in exchange for a previous favour, brought me back a little surprise from her recent trip to England.
Absinthe. Almost a full fifth.
More specifically, Verte de Fougerolle 72, from the Paul Devoile distillery in France.
A truly delightful liquer, it's more anise and less earthy than the Sebor I usually drink, but not quite as flowery as the La Bleue that I am no longer able to obtain easily. (As I'm abstaining from alcohol for Lent, more detailed tasting notes will be reserved for some time after Easter.) Overall, a very pleasant aperitif, that I will definitely be aquiring more of when this bottle runs out (not for some time to come, fortunately).
