"Tonight I'm on NyQuil and Sudafed. Let me tell you something, folks. Forget about cocaine and heroin. All you need is NyQuil and Sudafed."

"We have reached the point where the over-the-counter drugs are actually stronger than anything you can buy on the street."

-Denis Leary, No Cure for Cancer

That pretty adequately sums up my day right now.

As well, I just don't think the potential conflicts of struggling to start a restaurant would have been all that interesting to read about.

I guess I'm just one of those odd souls who can't do anything normally. I actually enjoy reading stuff like that. The minutia of daily life, if well written, can captivate me. I can get absorbed in mundane details of a particular profession or activity.

I'm a long time fan of Sci-Fi/Fantasy author L.E. Modessit. He will go into the intensely detailed descriptions of the ordinary activities of his characters, the intricate details of woodworking, stonecutting, smithing, etc., in the midst of epic journeys and byzantine political machinations. In fact, he spends more time on such seemingly trivial details than he does on his duels and battles. But most other people I know dislike him for those exact same reasons.
