Upcoming Events
Apr. 9th, 2006 09:48 amSo, there are a few events that I like to attend every year, aside from various cons (which I won't be attending this year); and thought I'd post about them here, since I know a few people on my friends list were interested in attending.
Mediterranean Fantasy Festival July 15th and 16th at Hiawatha Park in West Seattle. One of the biggest Pacific Northwest bellydance festivals, and it's free. If you're at all a fan of bellydancing -- traditional, tribal, cabaret, or fusion -- you definitely want to attend this. I always go both days, and this year will be no exception. Even if you're not all that interested in the dancing, there's a lot of vendors there with some amazing clothing, jewelry, and other stuff. Not to mention lots of women of all sizes and shapes, more than a few in fairly skimpy costumes. Definitely not to be missed.
The Seattle International Beerfest June 30th through July 2nd at the Seattle Center Mural Amphitheatre. A weekend of tasting some of the best local and international microbreweries, craft breweries, and traditional breweries. There seems to be a greater selection of larger Belgian, Czech, and German breweries this year than usual. The overall selection appears to be smaller, but the variety is a bit wider than last year. Your liver will hate you, but it probably already does, anyway.
mecracker, you are expected to attend. No excuses.
