It has recently been brought to my attention that there are still people on my friends list who buy into the
Loose Change moonbat conspiracy theory bullshit. I had thought, and still think, that my friends are too intelligent for such ridiculous paranoia; but it's clear that in a few cases, rabid knee-jerk partisan politics are completely overriding their critical-thinking abilities. I can't think of any other reason that anyone would buy into looney-toon theories that violate not only common sense, but the laws of physics (I mean come on, some of that stuff isn't even physically possible!). I am no fan of the Bush government, and would love to see them all thrown out of office tomorrow morning (with a very few exceptions); but come on! People need to calm down a bit and use their logic and reasoning skills. There are so many better reasons to oppose the current administration, making up shit isn't necessary and just makes you look like an idiot to anyone with an active brain.
Anyone who claims that a cruise missile hit the towers knows absolutely nothing about cruise missiles, how they look, how they fly, or more importantly how they sound (as in, there wouldn't be an intact window anywhere near the flight path, most of those things are
supersonic and
terrain-huggers). Even the few that are subsonic kick up a hell of a racket and fly much faster than commercial airliners (and remember, the official speed of any military weapon or vehicle is always considerably lower than it's true capability, which is always classified). It's a physical impossibility for a missile to have hit the towers. And don't even get me started on the laughable assertion that it was a "controlled demolition".
And anyone who claims that our government was involved, and managed to cover it up, has not paid the slightest bit of attention to the news in the last... well... forever. The American government can't cover up a fucking blow job! Hell, the current administration can't even keep the names of its own CIA operatives secret, and yet they're supposedly able to maintain a conspiracy of over four thousand people? Puh-leeze. No conspiracy containing more than 5 people can possibly stay secret. It's statistically impossible. I especially like how the people making this claim constantly accuse the Bush administration of being stupid and incompetant; yet at the same time accuse them of being inhumanly clever, and effective at secrecy and manipulation. Which one is it? Since it quite clearly cannot be both.

Loose Change, and its companion film
In Plane Site, is encouraged to start with the links on this page:
Hell, even some of the far Left mmoonbats
have debunked the movie.
