Health and goofiness
Jul. 3rd, 2006 05:06 pmWell, I'm still not in great health; but I'm definitely getting better. Not sure what all is wrong with me, docs keep telling me different things, most of which are meaningless; but I think that a large part of it is simply hypothyroidism, most likely Hashimoto's. Had a bit of trouble getting the meds adjusted to a decent level; but now things seem to be working a whole lot better, physically. Still weak, but getting stronger. The constant extreme fatigue is pretty much gone. I can walk more than a few blocks or a couple flights of stairs without getting winded. My appetite is coming back, and I can eat more than a muffin without feeling bloated and overfull. I can concentrate a little better, and think a bit more clearly; instead of feeling like my brain was constantly clogged with molasses. I'm still in pretty bad shape, but it looks like I'm finally going to be able to get a reasonable amount of exercise, which will improve things dramatically. Going to try walking home from downtown more often, and get out and do more walking on the weekends.
I'm still not sleeping well, but that is probably a completely different issue entirely; and I'm still trying to figure out what to do about that. Maybe the increased exercise will help. I also seem to have developed a mild tremor. I'm hoping that that's just the result of being so badly out of shape, and will go away once I start to make some improvements there.
