Another Job Interview
Nov. 3rd, 2010 06:23 pmAlthough I got an offer for a job yesterday, I had this one lined up already, and wanted some alternatives available.
The interview seemed to go very well, but the job was less... interesting than I had hoped. Less technical work, more customer support, and a lot of proprietary software, not a lot that would be portable to a new position, aside from Javascript experience, and I don't know how much of that I'll get. It also might require a pay cut, which the other job doesn't.
I don't like the idea of working another limited-term contract; but I am feeling a lot better about the job itself, particularly since it will give me more opportunity to improve and extend my technical skills. Not looking forward to starting the job hunt again this time next year; but I'll be in a better place for it when I do.
