It just doesn't end.
Oct. 8th, 2006 12:00 pmSo just when I think I've finally gotten over this damn virus, I end up even sicker than before. Only this time, it seems to be a secondary infection. Pneumonia. Came home Saturday night from spending time with friends, and within a couple hours ended up in bed with a 102 degree fever (the first person who says it gets a wombat in the face).
I should have expected it, since several other people here at work have been out with major illnesses, in one case Strep; and this place is horrible for spreading illness. As soon as one person shows up to work sick, within a week everyone is sick. My supervisor was out most of last week due to illness.
And since I'm hourly and not able to work from home (like my supervisor is), I am stuck coming to work while still running a 100 degree fever. The acetomenaphin seems to be keeping it down and stabilized, so as long as I don't get any worse, I won't miss a significant amount of work. Not going to manage more than a half-day today, though, so I'm stuck working a full day Friday. Not many things worse than having to work while I'm sick. Oh well, at least I'm not at the "mandatory overtime" stage for another month.
